Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
IFI-44 (interferon-induced protein 44), also known as p44 or MTAP44 (microtubule-associated protein 44), is a 444-amino-acid cytoplasmic protein that aggregates to form microtubular structures upon induction by IFN-β.
Human IFI-44 shares 97% sequence similarity with its chimpanzee counterpart, indicating a conserved role across species.
The IFI44 gene is located on human chromosome 1, which spans approximately 260 million base pairs, contains over 3,000 genes, and comprises nearly 8% of the human genome. Chromosome 1 includes many disease-associated genes involved in conditions such as familial adenomatous polyposis, Stickler syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease, schizophrenia, and Usher syndrome.
