Product Specific Information
PA1-986 detects RFP-tagged proteins and is specific for the RFP tag, showing no cross-reactivity with GFP or GFP-tagged proteins.
It has been validated for Western blot applications, detecting RFP-tagged proteins specifically.
A non-specific 45 kDa protein band may appear in E. coli extracts but not in mammalian samples.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues V(22)–R(36) of the RFP tag.
This peptide (Cat. # PEP-260) is available separately for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) is derived from Discosoma sp. (Uniprot ID: Q9U6Y8) and widely used as a molecular tag for studying:
