Product Specific Information

The eBioGoH3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human CD49f (Integrin alpha 6), also known as VLA-6 alpha chain and platelet gpIc. CD49f is a 120 kDa transmembrane protein that associates with CD29 (Integrin beta 1) to form VLA-6, or with CD104 (Integrin beta 4) to form the α6β4 complex. It is expressed on T cells, monocytes, platelets, epithelial and endothelial cells, and germinal center B cells.
This antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and bovine integrin alpha 6 and can block its binding to laminin.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometry
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells at ≤0.25 µg/test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimal titration is recommended.

Fluorochrome Information:
APC-eFluor 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited by the Red laser (633–647 nm). Ensure the instrument can detect this fluorochrome.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and compensation.

Target Information

CD49f (Integrin alpha-6, ITGA6) is an integrin alpha chain that forms heterodimers with beta chains such as beta 1 (VLA-6) or beta 4 (TSP180). Integrins mediate cell adhesion and signaling, linking the extracellular matrix (ECM) to cytoskeletal proteins and influencing cell shape, migration, and proliferation.
CD49f is predominantly expressed in epithelial cells and plays a structural role in hemidesmosomes. Multiple alpha and beta subunits and splice variants exist in mammals, with integrins also binding soluble ligands or counter-receptors like ICAMs, promoting cell aggregation.
