Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Dissolve the contents of the vial by injecting 0.5 mL sterile distilled water. Lyophilized product is stable for at least one year at 4°C. After reconstitution, the contents can be safely stored at 4°C for one month or for one year at -20°C.
Add 0.02% sodium azide to prevent bacterial growth.

Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex is crucial in transducing antigen-recognition signals into the cytoplasm of T cells and in regulating the cell surface expression of the TCR complex. T cell activation through the antigen receptor (TCR) involves the cytoplasmic tails of the CD3 subunits CD3 gamma, CD3 delta, CD3 epsilon, and CD3 zeta. These subunits are structurally related members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded by closely linked genes on human chromosome 11.

CD3 subunits associate with cytoplasmic signal transduction molecules via a double tyrosine-based motif. CD3 may play a role in TCR-induced growth arrest, cell survival, and proliferation. The CD3 antigen is present on 68–82% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, 65–85% of thymocytes, and Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, but is not expressed on B or NK cells. Decreased T lymphocyte percentages may be observed in some autoimmune diseases. Genes encoding CD3 epsilon, gamma, and delta are located on chromosome 11, and defects in these genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
