Target Information
SWAP70 is a 585-amino-acid regulatory protein belonging to the pleckstrin-like family with a PH domain essential for phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate binding. It acts as a link between recognition of specific switch regions and DNA break formation, participating in nuclear events and B-cell activation signaling. As a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), SWAP70 transduces signals from tyrosine kinase receptors to RAC, independent of RAS. It plays roles in membrane ruffling, actin cytoskeleton regulation, and cell protrusion. SWAP70 is widely expressed in most tissues, mature B-cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
