Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 1A8-Ly6g reacts with mouse Ly-6G (Gr-1), a 25 kDa GPI protein expressed exclusively by neutrophils. Ly-6G is associated with neutrophil infiltration, recruitment, and migration, and interacts with B2 integrins (CD11a, CD11b). The ligand for Ly-6G remains unknown.

Unlike the RB6-8C5 clone, 1A8-Ly6g binds specifically to Ly-6G on neutrophils and can be used for neutrophil depletion with reported antagonist activity.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells at ≤1.0 µg/test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody required to stain a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.

Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Violet™ 480 (BV480) emits at 479 nm and is suitable for cytometers with a 405 nm violet laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies (Super Bright™, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant UV™), use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Note: BV480 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

Ly6G (Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus G6D) is part of the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1 complex (with Ly6C).
It is a 21–25 kDa protein expressed by myeloid-derived cells in bone marrow and serves as a marker for peripheral neutrophils, monocytes, and granulocytes.
Expression correlates with granulocyte differentiation and maturation.
Ly6G is implicated in anti-tumor responses and may modulate local immune activity through neutrophil signaling.
