Target Information
TP53I11 is a 177 amino acid tumor suppressor protein belonging to the p53-induced protein (PIG) family. The PIG gene family encodes redox-controlling proteins involved in p53 tumor suppressor activity. PIG11 may participate in arsenic trioxide (As₂O₃)-induced apoptosis and play a role in tumor suppression by promoting cell apoptosis. The gene encoding PIG11 is located on human chromosome 11, which contains over 1,400 genes and represents approximately 4% of the human genome.
