Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

Paraoxonase-1 (PON1) is a calcium-dependent ester hydrolase associated with apoA-I in HDL, preventing LDL oxidation and atherogenic oxidised-LDL formation.
Polymorphisms of the human PON1 gene are linked to coronary artery disease. PON1 activity is lower in subjects prone to atherosclerosis (e.g., diabetes, familial hypercholesterolemia, renal disease).
PON2 protects cells against oxidative damage, while PON3 shows similar activity to PON1 but with different substrate specificity.
PON1 and PON3 are implicated in lowering coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis risk.
Human PON3 shares three conserved cysteine residues with PON1, emphasizing their importance in vivo.
PON1-based catalytic scavengers may provide safe and effective protection against organophosphate intoxication.
