Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments with this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.
Recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
Paraoxonase-1 (PON1) is a calcium-dependent ester hydrolase associated with apoA-I in HDL and prevents oxidation of LDL. Variations in the PON1 gene are linked to coronary artery disease.
PON2 provides intracellular protection against oxidative damage, while PON3, similar to PON1, differs in substrate specificity and contributes to reducing atherosclerosis risk.
Human PON3 shares three conserved cysteine residues with PON1, indicating their functional importance.
PON1-based catalytic scavengers may offer protection against organophosphate intoxication.
