Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Paraoxonase-1 (PON1) is a calcium-dependent ester hydrolase associated with apoA-I in HDL, preventing oxidation of LDL and formation of atherogenic oxidized-LDL.
Polymorphisms in the human PON1 gene are linked to coronary artery disease, indicating a genetic association.
PON1 activity is reduced in individuals susceptible to atherosclerosis, such as those with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, familial hypercholesterolemia, and renal disease.
PON2 is an intracellular protein providing protection against oxidative damage, while PON3 shares similar activity with PON1 but differs in substrate specificity.
Both PON1 and PON3 are implicated in reducing the risk of coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis.
Human PON3 protein retains three conserved cysteine residues found in PON1, suggesting their importance in enzymatic activity.
PON1-based catalytic scavengers may offer a safe and effective approach to organophosphate detoxification.
