AKT1 (PKB alpha)는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로 세포 생존을 조절합니다. 활성화된 효소는 다양한 세포 유형에서 여러 표적을 인산화하여 세포 주기 진행을 촉진하고, 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 억제합니다. 인슐린, PI3K, IGF1 및 기타 성장 인자에 의해 활성화되며, forkhead 전사 인자 및 caspase-9의 인산화를 통해 세포 생존을 촉진합니다. AKT 경로는 암 치료제 개발의 주요 표적 중 하나입니다.
