Target Information

DCAMKL1 (DCLK1, doublecortin-like kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase containing two N-terminal doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and regulate their polymerization. It also includes a C-terminal kinase domain homologous to Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, and a serine/proline-rich domain mediating protein-protein interactions.
DCAMKL1 is a microtubule-associated kinase capable of autophosphorylation and exhibits microtubule-polymerizing activity independent of its kinase function. It participates in neuronal migration, retrograde transport, apoptosis, and neurogenesis.
