This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Follistatin-like protein 1 (FSTL1) is a widely expressed extracellular glycoprotein belonging to the osteonectin (BM-40/SPARC) family. It contains both a follistatin-like and extracellular calcium-binding domain. Initially identified as a TGF-beta-inducible protein in mouse osteoblasts, FSTL1 is involved in various cellular functions such as proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and migration.
It plays roles in biological processes including:
- Embryonic development
- Inflammatory response
- Angiogenesis
- Tumorigenesis
- Immune disease pathogenesis
FSTL1 is conserved across mammalian species and widely expressed in human tissues. It can be upregulated by innate immune mediators (e.g., TLR4 agonists, IL-1β via NFκB pathways), stimulating pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8. While mesenchymal cells produce FSTL1, it is absent in hematopoietic cells under normal conditions. Macrophages and monocytes can uptake FSTL1 at inflammation sites, promoting caspase-1 activation and IL-1β maturation.
Overexpression of FSTL1 contributes to diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA), whereas reduced serum levels are associated with ovarian and endometrial cancers, influencing cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.
