Product Specific Information
MA1-91555 antibody has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry and Western blot applications, detecting a band of approximately 11 kDa. Confluent MCF10A cells can serve as a positive control.
Target Information
The S100A7 protein belongs to the S100 family, containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. These proteins are found in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cells and play roles in regulating cell cycle progression and differentiation. The S100 genes are clustered on chromosome 1q21. S100A7 differs from other S100 proteins by lacking calcium-binding ability in one EF-hand at the N-terminus. It is highly overexpressed in psoriatic skin lesions but not associated with familial psoriasis susceptibility. The precise function remains unclear.
