Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is specific for phosphorylated human Cyclin B1 protein at the pS126 residue. BLAST analysis indicates 100% homology of the immunizing sequence with human Cyclin B1. Cross-reactivity may occur with Cyclin B1 from rat, dog, and chimpanzee (91% homology), and partial reactivity with mouse and hamster (83% homology). Minimal reactivity is expected with the non-phosphorylated form.

Target Information

Cyclins bind to and regulate the activity of Cyclin-dependent protein kinases (CDKs). Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) is a regulatory protein involved in mitosis and essential for control of the cell cycle at the G2/M transition. Cyclin B1 complexes with p34 (cdc2) to form the maturation-promoting factor (MPF). Two alternative transcripts have been found: a constitutively expressed transcript and a cell cycle-regulated transcript expressed predominantly during G2/M phase. Cyclin B1 accumulates during G2 phase and is degraded at the end of mitosis via APC-dependent destruction, which is required for cell cycle progression. Cyclin B1 is overexpressed in various cancers including breast, prostate, and non-small cell lung cancer.
