This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to prevent contamination.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates.

This antibody specifically recognizes Human ISG15.

Target Information

Ubiquitin-like protein ISG15 plays a key role in the innate immune response to viral infection, either via conjugation to target proteins (ISGylation) or as a free protein.
It is secreted from monocytes in response to type I interferons, promoting NK-cell proliferation and enhancing non-MHC-restricted cytotoxicity.
Expression is induced by IFN-α, IFN-β, and IFN-ω, but not IFN-γ, and can also be stimulated by influenza B virus or interferon regulatory factors.

ISG15 is secreted by monocytes, T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells. It acts as part of the cytokine cascade, amplifying immunomodulatory effects of interferons. Intracellularly, ISG15 functions as a ubiquitin homolog.
Mutations in the ISG15 gene can cause Immunodeficiency 38 with basal ganglia calcification (IMD38).
