Target Information
This gene encodes a zinc finger transcription factor belonging to the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family.
It contains nine Kruppel-type zinc finger domains at the carboxyl terminus, is localized in the nucleus, and is involved in cell cycle progression.
It interacts with histone deacetylase, and aberrant gene rearrangements at this locus are associated with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).
Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized.
