Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
ID family proteins (ID1, ID2, ID3, ID4) are basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins that dimerize with class A and B HLH proteins.
Due to the absence of the basic region, these heterodimers cannot bind DNA, thus negatively regulating DNA binding of bHLH proteins.
ID proteins inhibit muscle-specific gene expression by preventing DNA binding of E12 and Myo D.
Under differentiation conditions, ID levels decrease, allowing E12/E47 to form heterodimers with Myo D and myogenin, activating myogenic differentiation.
Expression of ID proteins is growth factor-dependent, and reduction of ID mRNA delays cell cycle reentry after growth factor stimulation.
