Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The Id family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins includes ID1, ID2, ID3, and ID4. These proteins are ubiquitously expressed and form heterodimers with class A and B HLH proteins. Due to the absence of the basic region, the resulting heterodimers cannot bind DNA, acting as negative regulators of DNA binding by bHLH proteins.
ID1 inhibits DNA binding of E12 and Myo D, thereby suppressing muscle-specific gene expression. During muscle cell differentiation, ID protein levels decrease, allowing E12/E47 to form heterodimers with Myo D and myogenin, activating myogenic differentiation. Expression of ID proteins is regulated by growth factor activation, and reduction of ID mRNA delays cell cycle reentry after growth factor stimulation.
