The H44 antibody reacts with the interleukin-18 receptor alpha chain (IL-18Ra), also known as IL-1Rrp, a member of the IL-1 receptor family.
IL-18R alpha is expressed on Th1 cells, NK cell subsets, neutrophils, and IL-12-stimulated tonsillar B cells.

• IL-18R alpha alone binds IL-18 with low affinity.
• When complexed with IL-18R beta chain, it binds IL-18 with high affinity.
• The IL-18/IL-18R complex plays a critical role in innate and autoimmune immune responses.

Target Information

IL18R1 is a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin 1 receptor family. It specifically binds interleukin-18 (IL18) and is essential for IL18-mediated signaling.
Expression of this receptor is induced by IFN-α and IL-12 in NK and T cells.
The IL18R1 gene, along with IL1R2, IL1R1, ILRL2 (IL-1Rrp2), and IL1RL1 (T1/ST2), forms a gene cluster on chromosome 2q.
