Product Specific Information

This FFA21 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-21 (IL-21), a 17 kDa immunomodulatory cytokine mainly produced by NKT, Th17, and TFH cells.
IL-21 signaling via IL-21R and STAT3 promotes transcriptional activation through Bcl6, supporting TFH cell effector function.
It facilitates T cell-dependent B cell differentiation into plasma and memory cells, stimulates IgG production, and induces apoptosis in naive B cells.

In Th17 cells, IL-21 regulates IL-23R expression and balances IRF4, RORγt, and Foxp3 activity. IL-21-deficient mice show resistance to chemically induced colitis due to impaired Th17-associated molecule expression.
Preliminary data indicate that clone FFA21 recognizes a distinct epitope compared to clone mhalx21 (Product # 51-7213-82).

Target Information

IL-21 is a 17 kDa cytokine produced by NKT, Th17, and TFH cells. It promotes TFH cell development, B cell differentiation, and IgG production, while modulating Th17 maturation through IL-23R and transcriptional regulators STAT3, IRF4, and RORγt.
Deficiency in IL-21 protects mice from chemically induced colitis, whereas elevated IL-21 levels are observed in colitis models.
