Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts to Histone H4 monomethylated at Arginine 3 (R3me1).
No cross-reactivity with unmodified Arginine 3, asymmetric or symmetric dimethylated Arginine 3, or citrullinated Arginine 3 in Histone H4.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes.
Two molecules of each core histone (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer around which ~146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units called nucleosomes.
The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in chromatin compaction.
The Histone H4 gene is intronless, lacks polyA tails, and contains a palindromic termination element. It is located in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6.
