Target Information
The WNT gene family encodes secreted signaling proteins involved in oncogenesis and developmental processes such as regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.
WNT10A is strongly expressed in promyelocytic leukemia and Burkitt’s lymphoma cell lines. It is coexpressed with WNT6 in colorectal cancer cell lines.
Overexpression may play key roles in carcinogenesis through activation of the WNT–β-catenin–TCF signaling pathway.
Both WNT10A and WNT6 genes are clustered in the chromosome 2q35 region.
