It has a protein kinase-like domain at its N-terminal domain, and this protein is evolutionarily conserved. It is also called TEIF (telomerase transcriptional elements­interacting factor), acts as a transcription factor, and resides in centrosome. This gene is localized to human chromosome 11q13.
