Human NENF (29937)
Neuron derived neurotrophic factor (NENF), also known as neudesin and GIG47, is mapped to human chromosome 1p33. This gene is expressed only in vertebrates and encodes a novel secretory protein with 172 amino acids named neudesin. The primary structure may contain a cytochrome b5-like heme/steroid-binding domain. In mouse, neudesin is expressed in heart, kidney, brain, and lung.
