This cloning vector contains the mouse (Mus musculus) lambda antibody light chain constant region and is used to create full length light chain antibody expression constructs. This is possible because the constant region is positioned downstream of a restriction site called BseRI which when cut will produce an overhang from the first two nucleotudes of the first codon of the constant region coding sequence. This allows variable regions to be inserted seamlessly by adding a BseRI site to the end of the variable region in the opposing direction.

Promoter Expression Level: This plasmid contains the mammalian CMV promoter to drive gene expression. We have tested all of our mammalian promoters in a range of cell types and CMV is consistently the strongest in those we have studied. However there are many reports of the CMV promoter demonstrating silencing by methylation in long-term culture.
