Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are highly conserved and abundantly expressed proteins involved in protein folding, complex assembly, and transport across membranes. They are classified into several families including HSP90, HSP70, HSP60, low molecular weight HSPs, immunophilins, and HSP110.
HSP10, a member of the low molecular weight HSP family, forms a heptameric ring structure that binds to GroEL, facilitating ATP-dependent protein folding. These chaperonins are essential for maintaining proper protein conformation under stress conditions.
