Product Specific Information

The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells throughout development except for terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with the B cell receptor (BCR). CD19 signaling induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. HIB19 and SJ25C1 recognize overlapping epitopes.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying co-receptor for the B cell receptor (BCR), regulating proliferation and differentiation. It is a key regulator in both normal and malignant B cell activity. Mutations in CD19 can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
