Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBio1D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells throughout development except plasma cells. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, and MHC class II that associates with the BCR, mediating tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation.

Applications Reported:
Used for flow cytometry and immunohistology of frozen tissue. Known to induce down-regulation of CD19 and alter B-1a/B-2 B cell proportions in mice.

Applications Tested:
Validated by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell numbers may range from 10⁵–10⁸ per test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Use in a sterile environment.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains, expressed on all peripheral B cells and some myeloid leukemia cells. It is the earliest and broadest B-cell restricted antigen and plays a key role in regulating normal and malignant B-cell proliferation. CD19 decreases the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation and acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the BCR. Mutations cause hypogammaglobulinemia; overexpression leads to B-cell hyperactivity.
