Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45447 was sufficient for detection of Shank1 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 190–220 kDa (alternative splice variants).
No cross-reactivity against Shank2 or Shank3.
Target Information
SHANK1 is an adapter protein located in the postsynaptic density (PSD) of excitatory synapses. It interconnects receptors of the postsynaptic membrane, including NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors, via complexes with GKAP/PSD-95 and Homer, respectively, and the actin-based cytoskeleton.
It may play a role in the structural and functional organization of dendritic spines and synaptic junctions.
