Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45449 was sufficient for detection of Shank1 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 190–220 kDa (alternative splice variants).
- No cross-reactivity against Shank2 or Shank3 observed.
Target Information
SHANK1 is an adapter protein located in the postsynaptic density (PSD) of excitatory synapses. It interconnects postsynaptic membrane receptors, such as NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors, through complexes with GKAP/PSD-95 and Homer, linking them to the actin-based cytoskeleton. SHANK1 plays a key role in the structural and functional organization of dendritic spines and synaptic junctions.
