Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and functions as a subunit of the NF-kB complex, forming heterodimers with p50 or p52. Upon TNFα binding to its receptor, IKK is activated and phosphorylates IκB, leading to its degradation and subsequent NF-kB activation. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in the transcription of the immunoglobulin κ gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
