This antibody detects 46 and 54 kDa proteins corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of JNK1 and JNK2 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431 and HeLa cells, as well as rat PC12 cells treated with calyculin A.
Target Information
MAPK8 (JNK1) is activated by misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum and acts as a crucial mediator of insulin resistance and obesity. It belongs to the MAPK superfamily of stress-activated protein kinases. MAPKs are serine-threonine protein kinases activated by various extracellular stimuli, mediating signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus.
JNK is involved in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. JNK pathways are activated by stress and inflammatory signals. JNK is expressed as ten different isoforms due to differential mRNA splicing, with JNK1 and JNK2 being predominant.
