Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the AAA protein family (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) and is the homolog of yeast Vps4 protein. In humans, two paralogs of the yeast protein have been identified, sharing high amino acid sequence similarity with each other, yeast Vps4, and mouse Skd1 proteins. Functional studies indicate that both human paralogs associate with endosomal compartments and are involved in intracellular protein trafficking, similar to yeast Vps4. The gene encoding this paralog is located on chromosome 16; the other resides on chromosome 18.
