Target Information
TYW2, also known as TRM12, is an enzyme involved in the wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA, stabilizing codon-anticodon interactions during translation.
TYW2 participates in a multistep enzymatic reaction that ensures accurate ribosomal decoding. It has been reported to be amplified in multiple breast cancer cell lines and overexpressed in breast tumor samples, suggesting a potential role in tumorigenesis.
