Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening for optimal clones.
Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody is specific for Mouse IGF-2/IGF-II.
Target Information
Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are mitogenic polypeptide growth factors that stimulate proliferation and survival of various cell types, including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissues in vitro.
IGFs are mainly produced by the liver, though other tissues also produce them at specific times. They belong to the Insulin gene family, which includes insulin and relaxin.
IGFs share structural and functional similarity with insulin but exhibit significantly higher growth-promoting activity.
- IGF-II expression is influenced by placental lactogen.
- IGF-I expression is regulated by growth hormone.
Both IGF-I and IGF-II signal through the tyrosine kinase type I receptor (IGF-IR), while IGF-II can also signal through the IGF-II/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor.
Mature IGFs are generated by proteolytic processing of inactive precursor proteins containing N- and C-terminal propeptide regions.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
