Product Specific Information

The JES6-5H4 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-2 (IL-2), a 17 kDa T cell growth factor and key immunoregulatory cytokine.

Applications Reported:
Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometry of stimulated mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Fluorophore Information:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, excited at 405 nm and emits at 445 nm. Ensure the instrument can detect this fluorochrome.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immunomodulatory cytokine essential for proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric complex that shares its gamma chain with IL-4 and IL-7 receptors.
Disruption of the IL-2 gene in mice causes an ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its critical role in immune regulation.
