Product Specific Information
Description:
The eBioMC-480 (MC-480) antibody reacts with stage-specific embryonic antigen-1 (SSEA-1), a carbohydrate epitope expressed on early mouse embryos, embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells, embryonic stem (ES) cells, and germ cells. No immunoreactivity is observed with undifferentiated human EC and ES cells. Differentiation of human EC increases SSEA-1 expression, while in mouse it decreases. SSEA-1 is also found on mature human granulocytes (CD15) and some monocytes, and is associated with cell adhesion, migration, and differentiation.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of F9 cell line. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

eFluor® 660 replaces Alexa Fluor® 647. Emits at 659 nm, excited by red laser (633 nm).
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 668 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD15 (Lewis X, Le(x); stage specific embryonic antigen-1, SSEA-1):
A trisaccharide determinant (3-fucosyl-N-acetyllactosamine) expressed on glycolipids, glycoproteins, and proteoglycans of various cell types such as granulocytes, mast cells, monocytes, macrophages, gastric mucosa, nervous system, and tumor cells.
Variants include sialyl-Lewis x and sulphated Lewis x. High surface expression promotes calcium-dependent Le(x)-Le(x) interactions involved in embryo compaction and teratocarcinoma cell aggregation. Sialyl-Le(x) and sialyl-Le(a) act as selectin ligands. CD15 expression is used to confirm Hodgkin’s disease diagnosis.
