Product Specific Information

The eBioTR23 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Toll-like receptor 1 (TLR1, CD281), a ~98 kDa protein of the Toll-like receptor family, closely related to mouse TLR6 in both structure and function.
TLR1 forms a complex with TLR2 to bind bacterially derived triacyl lipopeptides and soluble factors from Neisseria meningitidis. It is expressed by macrophages; TLR1-deficient mice show impaired cytokine production upon stimulation with triacyl lipopeptides and mycobacterial lipoproteins.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of transfected cells at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume; 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Careful titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.

Target Information

TLR1 protein is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, fundamental in pathogen recognition and innate immunity activation.
TLRs recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and mediate cytokine production essential for effective immunity.
They are conserved from Drosophila to humans, sharing structural and functional similarities.
In mice, TLR1 interacts with TLR2, enhancing NF-κB activation in response to synthetic lipopeptides.
TLR1 recognizes lipid configurations of mycobacterial lipoproteins and tri-acylated lipopeptides.
Alternative transcripts may result from polyadenylation site usage or splicing variations.
