Target Information
ALDH1A2는 알데하이드 탈수소효소 계열에 속하는 효소로, retinaldehyde로부터 retinoic acid(RA)를 합성합니다. Retinoic acid는 비타민 A의 활성 유도체로, 발달 및 성체 조직에서 호르몬 신호 분자로 작용합니다. 유사한 마우스 유전자 연구에 따르면, 이 효소는 CYP26A1과 함께 배아의 retinoic acid 농도를 조절하여 후방 기관 발달을 돕고 척추갈림증을 예방합니다. 본 유전자는 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 세 가지 전사 변형체를 가집니다.
