Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and acts as a cellular mediator for herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. HSV glycoprotein D (gD) binds TNFRSF14 as part of the viral entry mechanism. The cytoplasmic region interacts with TRAF family members, mediating immune signaling pathways. Activation of TNFRSF14 in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and enhanced CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though not all full-length sequences are determined.
