Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase and a member of the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. Activation occurs via binding of the FLT3 ligand to its extracellular domain, inducing receptor homodimerization and autophosphorylation. The activated receptor phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. Constitutive activation mutations are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
