Antibody detects endogenous levels of PKN2 only when phosphorylated at Ser815.


Target Information

PKN2 (PRK2), a close relative of PKCs, regulates mitosis and cytokinesis exit. It plays roles in:

  • Cell cycle progression and actin cytoskeleton assembly
  • Cell migration, adhesion, and tumor invasion
  • Transcription activation signaling processes

PKN2 phosphorylates CTTN in hyaluronan-induced astrocytes, reducing its actin association. It also phosphorylates HDAC5, impairing its import. As a direct RhoA target, PKN2 regulates apical junction formation in bronchial epithelial cells, G2/M phase progression, and cytokinesis via ECT2. It stimulates FYN kinase activity for keratinocyte differentiation, modulates epithelial bladder cell migration, inhibits Akt kinase activity, and mediates Rho-induced transcriptional activation via SRF. Additionally, it phosphorylates HCV NS5B to stimulate HCV RNA replication.
