Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of FADD only when phosphorylated at Ser41.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is an adaptor molecule that interacts with various cell surface receptors and mediates apoptotic signals. Through its C-terminal death domain, it can be recruited by TNFRSF6/Fas receptor, TNFRSF25, and TNFSF10/TRAIL receptor, participating in death signaling initiated by these receptors. Interaction with these receptors unmasks the N-terminal effector domain, allowing recruitment of caspase-8 and activation of the cysteine protease cascade. Knockout studies in mice suggest its importance in early T cell development.
