Product Specific Information
This antibody detects phosphotyrosine-containing proteins on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of EGF treated A431 cells, as well as pervanadate treated A431, HeLa, Jurkat, and endothelial cells.
Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a key role in signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and in oncogene tyrosine kinase-mediated transformation. It is a primary mechanism in normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation, and continues to be actively studied in differentiation and cell communication. Antibodies specific to phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for studying these proteins and their pathways. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detection in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical applications where secondary antibody use may interfere with target visualization.
