JunB is a member of the Jun cellular oncogene family and functions as a basic region, leucine zipper transcription factor. It regulates gene activity following the primary growth factor response and binds to the DNA sequence 5'-TGA[CG]TCA-3'. JunB plays an important role in cellular communication pathways that control growth, development, and differentiation.
