Target Information

CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase, 5'-ribonucleotide phosphohydrolase) catalyzes the conversion of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides at neutral pH, with AMP as the preferred substrate.
It forms a dimer of two identical 70 kDa subunits attached to the plasma membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage.
CD73 serves as a marker of lymphocyte differentiation, and its deficiency is associated with various immunodeficiency diseases.
Defects in the CD73 gene can cause calcification of joints and arteries and intestinal tuberculosis.
The gene is localized to chromosome 6q14–q21, and two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
