Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. Their molecular weights range from approximately 40 kDa to 68 kDa, with isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8.
Each epithelial type expresses specific cytokeratin subtypes related to its differentiation state. Cytokeratin expression patterns are widely used for distinguishing epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies are valuable tools in tumor differential diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometric assays.
