Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins with biochemical diversity represented by at least 20 polypeptides in human epithelial tissues.
They range in molecular weight between approximately 40–68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8.
Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are used to distinguish different epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies assist in differential diagnosis of tumors via immunohistochemistry, and are useful in cytopathology and flow cytometry assays.
