Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They vary in molecular weight (~40–68 kDa) and isoelectric pH (4.9–7.8). Each cytokeratin subtype is associated with specific epithelial types and differentiation stages. Cytokeratin expression patterns are widely used to distinguish epithelial malignancies and serve as valuable tools in tumor diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry assays.
